On Monday, April 20, 2026, survivors and allies will stand together in Harrisburg to call for the opening of the statute of limitations window for childhood sexual abuse.
1:30 PM | Capitol Main Rotunda
JOIN US for a grassroots, survivor-led rally to support opening a statute of limitations window in Pennsylvania. No politicians - just survivors and advocates raising our voices. Together.
Opening the window matters. It gives survivors a long-overdue chance at justice, but it also does something bigger: it helps expose predators who may still be in our communities. When abuse is brought to light, it can prevent future harm and better protect children and young people from those who might otherwise remain hidden.
If you’re able, you’re also invited earlier in the day:
11:00 AM | Annual Crime Victims’ Rights Rally (CVAP)
Followed by a free lunch in Room 60E
Whether you can join for one or both, your presence matters. Let’s show up for accountability, for healing, and for safer communities.

Change the Conversation Zoom Training: Beyond the Basics: Navigating Mandated Reporting & Internet Safety
Change the Conversation will offer Beyond the Basics: Navigating Mandated Reporting & Internet Safety on Tuesday, April 28th from 1 PM - 3 PM, EST. This virtual training will be held via Zoom.
Led by Amie Myrick, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, this training helps professionals sharpen their skills and judgment when navigating ambiguous or borderline cases of suspected child abuse or neglect, particularly when technology is involved. The session also addresses the importance of promoting safe and healthy online practices in a variety of contexts, including in schools and homes. Through case examples and reflective discussion, professionals will leave the training with skills to make sound, ethical, and legally aligned decisions and promote protective practices in their work with children and families.
This training moves beyond a basic review of mandated reporting to focus on the complex, real-world situations professionals face – especially when technology is involved. We’ll revisit reporting requirements in Maryland, explore how online behaviors intersect with child safety, and walk through case examples that require thoughtful judgment. We hope you’ll leave this training with practical strategies to support safer online environments in schools, homes, and clinical settings.
2 CEUs will be awarded to licensed Maryland Social Workers, Professional Counselors and Psychologists.
Cost: Free for non-CEU attendees, $20 for CEU attendees.
To register, please visit Training Registration.
Please feel free to share this training opportunity with anyone who may be interested.

Letters of Support for AB1739 needed
AB 1739 Sexual Exploitation: clergy passed the Assembly Public Safety Committee yesterday in California. The hearing can be viewed HERE (2:09 - 2:32). This is the furthest this bill has advanced since continued effort in 2023. California law is particular but we are making progress in finding creative ways to hold criminally liable sexually abusive clergy and help California catch up with the other 15 states that already have clergy laws.
At this point, we are asking organizations for support letters for the next step which is for AB 1739 to be heard in the Business and Professions Committee.
I hope ASC can support this bill with a letter of support. The Advocates Portal is open should your team be able to support and if the letter is received by early to mid-next week that would be wonderful (to ensure it is received on time by the committee/staff).
